DESCRIPTION:Peat Boggs is an eclectic quartet that plays an organic blend of groove\, jazz\, and twisted folk\, shifting easily from smooth melodies to hints of doom and surf rock. Cole Webster shapes the band’s sound with gritty\, expressive guitar. Ben Wagener holds down the low end with melodic\, wigglin’ bass lines. Chris Shea drives the groove on drums and all things rhythm. Charlie French delivers murky yet reflective lyricism that weaves seamlessly through the band’s lush arrangements. Secret weapon Cavan Denning joins in on sweet\, slippery pedal steel. \nMarlena Boedigheimer\, a tenor saxophonist from Duluth\, Minnesota\, began playing at 14\, inspired by Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s “T.R.O.Y.” Her passion for jazz grew through mentorship and high school jazz band participation. She pursued a Jazz Studies degree at the University of Minnesota-Duluth\, where personal struggles deepened her connection to music. Influenced by avant-garde artists like Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders\, Marlena developed a unique sound and performed with local groups like AfroGeode and the Gemstones. She also contributed to various genre-spanning recordings and was selected for the Women in Jazz Organization’s 2021–2022 mentorship program. After graduating in 2022\, she released music under the name “pink marlena” and is now pursuing a Master’s in Improvisation at the University of Michigan. A member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa\, she integrates her Indigenous heritage into her music\, focusing on language revitalization and cultural storytelling through her recent and upcoming projects. \nNo Cover | All Ages | Family Friendly

DESCRIPTION:Bonfire Music Group recording artists the Roe Family Singers are a Hard-Core Old-Time band from Minneapolis\, MN. Led by wife & husband Kim and Quillan Roe\, the band marries old-time sounds from barn-dances\, fiddle pulls\, and county fairs with a punk rock delivery. \nFeaturing banjo\, Autoharp\, guitar\, and Appalachian clogging\, the band and family of fans have been regularly filling Minneapolis’ 331 Club every Monday night since 2005. They’ve shared the stage with Doc Watson\, Ralph Stanley\, Mike Seeger\, Del McCoury\, Jesse McReynolds\, the Grascals\, Jim Kweskin & Geoff Muldaur\, Junior Brown\, Asleep at the Wheel\, and John McEuen & John Carter Cash. In 2011 the band was awarded the prestigious McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians; they won the title of “World’s Best Jug Band” twice\, in 2010 & 2012 at the annual Battle of the Jug Bands; in 2012\, won the Minnesota Duet Contest at the MN State Fair; in 2016 won the title of Entertainers of the Year from BMAI; in 2017\, Kim won the clogging competition at the Old-Time Music & Ozark Heritage Festival\, held in West Plains\, MO; in 2018\, won both Entertainers of the Year and Album of the Year from BMAI;in 2019\, won Best Band\, Best Band Overall\, and Entertainers of the Year from BMAI; and in 2020 their song\, “Don’t Worry About the Rich Man\,” was #10 overall on the Bluegrass Grassicana charts. \nThe Roe Family Singers mix original music and contemporary takes on old-time and traditional tunes into one roiling & rollicking river of fresh yet familiar American music. DESCRIPTION:The Spine Stealers and Ross Thorn kick off their Western tour in Duluth! The show doubles as an album release for Thorn’s second album\, Fitting In. \nThey’ll be joined by TNT HiFi \nThe Spine Stealers are a two-gal duo making “spooky folk” influenced by the north-wood Wisconsin pines\, 24/7 truck stop diners\, heartbreak and dark lakes. Kate and Emma started learning guitar together around bonfires in their shared hometown during the height of the pandemic\, soon writing songs inspired by lonesome winters\, the heartaches of nostalgia and broken ideas of love. The duo started frequenting open mics in July of 2022\, which led them to a whirlwind first year as performers. It began with opening for Dead Horses at Madison’s Majestic Theater for Folk Fest 2023\, then winning the 2023 Blue Ox Music Festival Virtual Band Competition\, and releasing their first ever EP\, “River Teeth Tapes” in July\, 2023. 2024 brought the release of several singles\, a feature in DAYBREAK magazine\, and most proudly\, the recording of their debut album “If the Sky Falls\, Beyond the Sidewalks”\, released in October\, 2024. The duo is making a name in the Midwestern folk scene\, and anxiously await the introduction of their sound to new corners of the country. \nWith a pastoral upbringing in northern Wisconsin\, Ross Thorn’s music emanates as a warm and soulful hymn\, waking up optimistically beside a snow-covered window.
