DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Food\, Farmers and Community \n\n\nIt’s the 31st Anniversary of Harvest Festival!! \nBrought to you by the Sustainable Farming Association\, “celebrating food\, farmers\, and community.” \n\nFarmers Market\nLive Music all day\nNonprofit Expo\nArt & Craft Fair\nEnergy Fair\nFood Court\nEducational Demos\n\nThis is a free\, family oriented event! We ask for a donation at the door to help support the festival and we suggest $5/person or $10/family\, or pay what you can. It is $10 to park at Bayfront\, and there is accessible parking closer to the entrance. We encourage you to walk/bike/bus/carpool! \nWe suggest you bring your reusable bags and utilize our “park your produce” station at the LSSFA Info tent near the main entrance\, so you don’t have to haul around your heavy veggies while you enjoy the festival. You might want to bring cash\, though many (not all) vendors will accept a card\, and we will have an ATM on site. Farmers market vendors will be accepting EBT\, thanks to Community Action Duluth. \nAnd best to leave your dogs at home! \nThis event started as a big farmers market\, and has grown to be a huge community celebration. We do this in order to support our local farmers\, other small businesses\, and area nonprofits. DESCRIPTION:Duluth Public Schools started the Unity In Our Community back-to-school event held at Bayfront Festival Park in 2022. Each year we celebrate our students\, staff\, families\, and district. At this event\, we have booths\, speakers\, school and community groups performing on stage\, fun activities for kids\, and so much more. \nWe also continue to have a free backpack giveaway for families who need it provided by Neighborhood Youth Services and provide a free meal to all who attend. We also pay for transportation hubs around the city using our buses to help break down barriers. \nThe 2025 event will be at Bayfront Festival from 3:30-7pm on Monday\, August 18\, 2025. \nJoin us at 4pm for a free 1-mile Fun Run hosted by Grandma’s Marathon and Duluth Community Education! GOODMAN\n\nBayfront Festival Park\nSaturday\, July 5\, 2025 \nAll Ages Show\n4:30 PM Doors\n6:00 PM Showtime \n\n\n\nThe band is from Duluth\, Minnesota where frontman Dave Simonett initially formed the group as a side project in 2003. \nAt the time\, Simonett had lost most of his music gear\, thanks to a group of enterprising car thieves. Left with nothing more than an acoustic guitar\, he began piecing together a new band\, this time taking inspiration from bluegrass\, folk\, and other genres that didn’t rely on amplification. \nSimonett hadn’t played any bluegrass music before\, and he filled his lineup with other newcomers to the genre\, including fiddler Ryan Young (who’d previously played drums in a speed metal act) and bassist Tim Saxhaug. Along with mandolinist Erik Berry and banjo player Dave Carroll\, the group began carving out a fast\, frenetic sound that owed as much to rock & roll as bluegrass.
