SUMMARY:Artist Exhibition Receptions for Ann Klefstad & Lisa Perrin-Kosmo
DESCRIPTION:IN THE ZEITGEIST ATRIUM: Boreality celebrates the skies and birds above the shore of Lake Superior. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a mural painted on polytab fabric\, 8’ x 15’: it is available to be adhered to an exterior or interior wall. Panel paintings on cradled birch panels are also in the exhibition. \nAnn Klefstad\, a sculptor and artist who has done many public art commissions in the region\, has been impressed by the amazing clouds occurring this year. She has long been an admirer of corvids\, and her sumi-e paintings of them are popular. In this exhibition\, the two subjects converge. \nKlefstad is a recipient of a fiscal year 2025 Minnesota State Arts Board Creative Individuals grant\, awarded to enable her exploration of mural painting on polytab\, to expand her public art practice. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. \nIN THE RESTAURANT + BAR: An exciting retrospective showing of paintings by Two Harbors artist Lisa Perrin-Kosmo. She celebrates her connection to the natural world with vivid colors and magical juxtaposition that convey a spiritual connection to the north woods and the animals that thrive here
