SUMMARY:DECC Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the Class of 2026 at the 29th DECC Athletic Hall of Fame banquet. \n2026 INDUCTEES\nRecent discussion has produced the following five selected and agreed upon unanimous inductees: \nJolene Anderson \nOne of the most decorated prep basketball players in the Northland\, Anderson set the Wisconsin record for career scoring while playing at South Shore High School. She followed that up with a stellar career at the University of Wisconsin as the most prolific scorer in the program’s history. Anderson was drafted in the second round of the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun. After playing a year in the WNBA\, Anderson continued her professional career with stops in France\, Turkey\, Poland\, Italy\, Spain\, Australia and Mexico. \nC.J. Ham \nHam recently completed a nine-year NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings that was highlighted by two Pro Bowl selections and representing the team as their Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee in 2024 and 2025. Ham played 141 games for the Vikings and scored eight touchdowns (six rushing and two receiving) as a fullback. The Duluth native was a stellar student-athlete at Denfeld High School and played collegiately at Augustana College in Sioux Falls\, South Dakota. \nBob Magie \nMagie excelled at hockey\, curling and golf\, and grew up on the rinks of Glen Avon Hockey and the Duluth Curling Club as well as the fairways of Ridgeview Country Club. As an attorney\, Magie has been instrumental in fostering the legal relationship between the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center and Duluth Curling Club from 1970 on\, including the initial funding for Pioneer Hall and negotiating and drafting naming rights agreements for AMSOIL Arena. \nLisa Malosky \nMalosky lettered in basketball\, swimming\, track and badminton at Duluth Central High School and later built a career as a sports journalist and television host. As a woman in sports broadcasting\, Malosky helped pave the way for others in a traditionally male-dominated field. She was a member of the first all-female broadcasting team when the WNBA was formed\, and gained even wider recognition as co-host of the television competition show “American Gladiators.” \nPhil Verchota \nVerchota won a gold medal playing on the famed “Miracle on Ice” U.S. men’s hockey team in the 1980 Winter Olympics\, and he was captain of the squad in the 1984 Games. The Duluth East standout was recruited to the University of Minnesota for both football and hockey\, but he opted to focus on hockey\, which paid off in playing on two national championship-winning teams under head coach Herb Brooks in 1976 and 1979. \nAll selected inductees have been notified of their selection and will be in attendance for the event. \nSCHEDULE\n6:00pm | Social Hour \n7:00pm – 8:30pm | Dinner and Award Presentation \nFOOD & DRINK\nMarry Me Chicken or Roasted Butternut Squash Plank with Minnesota Wild Rice\, Garden Salad\, and White Chocolate Raspberry Cream Shortcake for dessert. \nCash bar will be available. \nThis event will celebrate five individuals who have gained national prominence in sports and have connections to NE Minnesota or NW Wisconsin. \nProceeds from this event will benefit the Montgomery Sports Foundation\, which helps provide financial assistance to make sports available to more youth in our region. \nLearn more about the Montgomery Sports Foundation here: montgomerysf.org

He’s a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has been honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Nashville Walk of Fame. The fifth season of his own talk show\, Talking in Circles\, is currently airing on Circle TV and was awarded “Best Talk Show” in Cynopsis Media’s Best of the Best and Rising Star Awards. This year Clint received the Poet’s Award at the ACM Honors\, an award given to the most remarkable and enduring talents in country music songwriting. \nLearn more at clintblack.com \n  \n  \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO

SUMMARY:Brad Williams: The Tall Tales Tour
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Emporium Presents\nTICKETS\nTickets on sale now! \n  \nABOUT BRAD WILLIAMS\nPound for pound\, Brad Williams is the funniest comedian in the country right now\, and has become one of the most in-demand comedians working today. Williams started doing stand-up comedy as a teenager and has been touring successfully ever since\, routinely selling out prestigious venues all over the country and world. \nWilliams has parlayed his live performances into a multitude of stand-up television appearances\, including The Tonight Show\, Dave Attell’s Comedy Underground\, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. His first one-hour special\, Fun Size\, was the highest rated special on Showtime\, and a year later\, he followed that up with his second one\, Daddy Issues\, which was even more successful than the first. His third special in three years was an uproarious one\, hosting some of the edgiest comedians in the country from the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. His last groundbreaking special on Netflix\, The Degenerates\, garnered more huge ratings and rave reviews. \nAlso an accomplished actor\, Williams has appeared on numerous TV shows and feature films\, including FX’s Legit\, Sam and Cat\, Mind of Mencia\, Pitboss\, a recurring role on the Hulu original show Deadbeat\, and memorable roles in a plethora of movies\, including Little Evil\, produced by Scott Stuber (Ted)\, as well as the Netflix original Christopher Guest film\, Mascots\, and most recently Reno 911: It’s A Wonderful Heist. \nRecently\, Brad became the first stand-up comedian to headline a Cirque de Soleil show in their 30 year history\, when he agreed to launch—and do a three month run of—their newest show Mad Apple\, at the magnificent 1200 seat New York New York Theater in Las Vegas. The show became an immediate smash hit to rave revues\, singling out Williams for his incredible ability to captivate his audiences with his extraordinary performances. \nIn addition to stand-up and acting\, Williams co-created and co-hosted one of the most successful podcasts in the world\, with friend and fellow comic Adam Ray\, entitled About Last Night\, which was always a mainstay on the iTunes charts during their five year run. Additionally\, he is also a regular contributor with a series of incredibly funny appearances on several national radio and podcast platforms\, including KROQ’s Kevin and Bean Show and The Adam Carolla Show. \nWilliams’ humorous and inspiring observations on disability\, relationships\, sex\, and race consistently win over audiences; proving anyone can overcome their shortcomings. His high energy live performances frequently produce standing ovations from audience members; which prompted the late Robin Williams to call him “Prozac with a head.” \n  \nMore info at www.bradwilliamscomedy.com \n  \n  \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO

SUMMARY:Filter
DESCRIPTION:with special guest Finger Eleven and Local H \n  \nPresented by Sasquatch 92.1 & The DECC \n  \nTICKETS\nTickets on sale now! \n  \n  \nABOUT FILTER\nDiversity has been a hallmark of Richard Patrick’s career\, and it’s administered with crushing efficiency on his latest eclectic set of new material from his band Filter. \nFans weaned on the industrial outbursts and corrosive beats of such platinum-selling albums as Short Bus and Title of Record will be ecstatic to hear Patrick’s unmistakable scream and unflinching honesty dominating this new album. \nThe prolific multi-instrumentalist swings back and forth between intensely personal narratives and politically charged diatribes in throwback industrial crushers. On the surface\, tracks like “Thoughts & Prayers\,” “Murica” and “Come Take My Guns” detail disgust in the goings on during Trump’s time in the White House\, while a track like “Race to the Bottom” chronicles the alcoholics road to addiction. \nFrontman Patrick\, the lone constant member of the veteran industrial rock act\, reunited with original Filter programmer and producer Brian Liesegang to write several songs on the new record – Filter’s first in five years. \nWhile Patrick has always participated in the production of his music\, this is the first time he has officially sat in the producer chair. In so doing\, he has called upon several friends to help create his latest masterpiece\, including newcomer Zach Munowitz and rapper TweezeDaShaggyGod. \nFilter was originally formed in Cleveland\, OH in 1993 when Patrick desired to start his own band after leaving Nine Inch Nails as their touring guitarist. Their debut album Short Bus was released in 1995 and ended up going platinum\, largely due to the success of the single “Hey Man Nice Shot.” \nThe follow up\, 1999’s Title of Record\, also went platinum driven by the success of the song “Take a Picture.” Filter’s third album\, The Amalgamut\, was released in 2002\, though sales stalled when Patrick checked into rehab after years of heavy alcohol and drug abuse just as touring and promotion began. \nUpon getting healthy\, Patrick formed the supergroup Army of Anyone with Dean and Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots and Ray Luzier of Korn\, released one critically acclaimed album and toured the U.S. After AOA went on hiatus\, Patrick returned to Filter\, releasing Anthems for the Damned in 2008\, The Trouble With Angels in 2010\, The Sun Comes Out Tonight in 2013 and Crazy Eyes in 2016. \n  \nABOUT FINGER ELEVEN\nFinger Eleven\, the alternative rock band from Ontario\, and one of the best-selling Canadian bands of all time\, have released a series of consecutive hit albums and become among the greatest live bands to ever emerge from the great White North. The Greyest of Blue Skies\, their debut\, broke Finger Eleven into the international mainstream\, achieving Gold status in the United States and Platinum in Canada\, and smashing the first single “One Thing”\, across the radio and Billboard charts. Their 2007 album\, Them vs. You vs. Me\, launched the single “Paralyzer”\, setting radio records in the US\, peaking at #1 internationally and going 5x Platinum\, the band’s second million+ seller. They won the Juno Award for Rock Album the following year and set an incredible run at rock radio\, with an unbeaten #14 weeks at the top spot. Life Turns Electric\, was nominated for a Juno Award for Best Rock Album of the Year. Five Crooked Lines continued to electrify audiences the world over and their Greatest Hits includes their biggest smash hit in a decade\, Together Right\, topping charts internationally \n  \nABOUT LOCAL H\nLocal H is known for their blistering live shows and for pioneering the two-man band set-up — frontman Scott Lucas covers both guitar and bass through an extra pick up in his guitar and drummer Ryan Harding pounds out the rest of the sound. While they have earned praise in the past for their catalog of clever concept albums\, Local H have forgone a singular theme on their most recent album — Hey\, Killer (out April 2015 on G&P Records) — turning out a non-stop blast of straight-up\, hooky\, guitar-heavy rock songs — each one catchier than the last. The band’s discography includes seven other studio albums\, a live album\, and a bunch of EPs and “Straight Outta Zion\,” a Blu-ray concert video (release date 8/12/16). \nLocal H’s widely praised 1998 concept album Pack Up the Cats earned a spot in SPIN magazine’s top 20 albums of that year. The band was named “Chicagoans of the Year” by the Chicago Tribune for their 2008 break-up album\, 12 Angry Months\, more than a decade after their breakthrough hit “Bound for the Floor” ruled the Modern Rock charts. In 2015\, Local H celebrated the 25th anniversary of their first show and released a career-spanning coffee table book\, Local H: Twenty-Five Years of Skin In The Game. Earlier this year\, they re-issued their 1996 album\, As Good As Dead\, on vinyl for the first time. \n  \n  \nAMSOIL Arena Know-Before-You-Go

SUMMARY:George Thorogood & The Destroyers
DESCRIPTION:with special guest The Robert Cray Band\n  \nTICKETS\nTickets on sale now! \n  \nABOUT THE SHOW\nFor the past 5+ decades\, over 8\,000 live shows and more than 15 million albums sold\, George Thorogood & The Destroyers have been “The All-American rock & roll party band” (Goldmine Magazine). And for their 53rd year of “playing rock & roll hot enough to melt the polar icecaps and flood the world’s major population centers” (Rolling Stone)\, the 2026 continuation of The Baddest Show On Earth Tour is a stage-shaking\, roof-raising\, guitar-snarling blast. “Could be the state of the world\,” “says George. “Maybe it’s the healing power of rock & roll. But when we hit the stage on any given night\, I can guarantee that we’ll make you feel like a teenager again.” \nThen again\, George & The Destroyers have always delivered on their promises. In 1976\, they debuted as the most explosive indie breakthrough act of the decade. Throughout the ‘80s/’90s MTV era\, Thorogood was the epitome of snakeskin & shades guitar-slinger cool. And with chart-topping hits like ‘One Bourbon\, One Scotch\, One Beer’\, ‘Move It On Over’\, ‘Who Do You Love?’\, ‘I Drink Alone’\, ‘Get A Haircut’ and the ultimate badass anthem ‘Bad To The Bone’\, George & The Destroyers became cornerstones of Classic Rock while their album catalog continues to dominate streaming charts worldwide. And whether it’s been their landmark performances at Live Aid and on SNL or recent smash tours with John Fogerty\, ZZ Top and Sammy Hagar\, they remain among the most reliable/formidable concert acts on the planet. “Don’t let anyone tell you this gig won’t keep you energized\,” “Thorogood says. “I defy bands half our age to put on a show like we do night after night.” \nAnd in a career which has seen him recently receive such tributes as The B.B. King Award from The Montreal International Jazz Festival\, being made honorary members of The Bo Diddley Centennial Committee\, and being invited to perform at The Grand Ole Opry\, are there any milestones left for Thorogood to achieve in the next 50 years? “It’s crazy to think that we’ve spent the last half century performing music we love for audiences who love what we do\,” George says. “But when you’ve got the best job in the world\, you can’t ever rest on your laurels. We not only work hard to bring our best\, but to keep getting better. That’s the only mission. That’s rock & roll.” \n  \nLearn more at georgethorogood.com \n  \n  \nKNOW BEFORE YOU GO
