Christmas City of the North Parade

2009 Christmas City of the North Parade
Friday, November 20

A Northern Minnesota tradition. The parade signals the beginning of the holiday season. Santa makes his first appearance along with colorful lighted floats, marching bands and pageantry.

This year’s parade features nearly 70 groups including 20 bands, 9 dance groups, various local royalty courts plus the “big guy in red.”

The parade route begins at the Northland’s NewsCenter Studios at Lake Ave. South and Railroad Street in Canal Park. The parade travels up Lake Ave to Superior Street and ends at 5th Ave. West.

The Northland’s NewsCenter will broadcast the 2009 Christmas City of the North Parade on Friday, November 20 starting at 6:20 P.M.

Aside from the live broadcast on NBC 6 and Range 11, this year’s parade will also be rebroadcast numerous times during the holiday season plus will be streamed live online.
