Sep 1st: Women’s Inland Lake Paddling
Time: 6 pm-8 pm
Join Positive Energy (on Wednesdays through September 29) for an evening of women’s kayaking in a friendly, fun atmosphere. The cost is only $20/person, and includes equipment and instruction on our private inland lake. No experience is necessary! In addition to learning to kayak, or improving your skills, you’ll also enjoy spectacular wildlife, including loons, great blue herons, bald eagles, osprey, beaver, deer and more. Be apart of this patriotic day when the Northland remembers those who died on September 11, 2001. This is a day of both remembering those who died on that tragic day, and to honor our Northland Heroes. Firefighters, Law Enforcement, Military, Branches, Search and Rescue squads from both Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin join at Duluth's Historic Wade Stadium to be thanked by all Northlanders. Last years event featured Honor Guards, nationally known speakers and a F-16 flyover by the Minnesota Air National Guard. The day includes a softball tournament, so enter your team. Also, show your support by running or walking in the Northland Heroes 5K race, held on the scenic Western Lake Superior Waterfront Trail. All proceeds from these events, benefit the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross. Held at Duluth's Historic Wade Stadium and the Western Waterfront Trail.

The 26th Annual Duluth Parks & Recreation Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, September 18th,
from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at beautiful Chester Bowl Park located at 1801 East Skyline Parkway.
Admission is $1.00, with all proceeds going towards youth ski program.There will be over 100 booths
featuring crafts, fresh local produce and tasty fall foods. One of the most popular attractions is the
farmers market, with hand dipped caramel apples, fresh pressed apple cider and locally grown sweet
corn. Children will enjoy pony rides and the playground. The park stage will feature live entertainment
throughout the day.
