Jul 1st: Timber Twister Alpine Coaster
Time: 10am - 7pm daily
Opening July 1st, 2010! Those riding Timber Twister will race along a 3,200 foot track, through the forest, and down the mountain in individual coaster cars. Riders can travel alone or in pairs, and have complete control of their speed (up to 26 mph) for a truly unique, hands-on experience. Unlike an alpine slide, the alpine coaster makes hairpin turns, is elevated off the ground like a roller coaster, and operates year-round due to its unique track system. With a few weather exceptions, riders will enjoy this one-of-a-kind sensation throughout the year. At the end of the ride down the mountain, guests will settle back in their cars for a comfortable and scenic return trip to the top. The complete Timber Twister experience will take riders on a thrilling six-minute journey while overlooking the wondrous views of Lake Superior. There are only four alpine coasters operating in the U.S. and this will be the only one in the Midwest. This is truly a unique attraction, and is NOT an alpine slide!!! Single Rider Tickets - $8/
Double Rider Tickets - $12/ SAVE Big: 10-packs for only $60! Located at Spirit Mountain.

Avett Brothers
There is no harmony like brotherly harmony. Something indelible in the weave of voices and play of sensibilities is stamped into the fraternal DNA and also stems from a lifetime of shared experiences. You can clearly hear fraternal magic at work in the songs of Scott and Seth Avett, better known as the Avett Brothers, as well. That magic is abundantly evident on I and Love and You, the Avett Brothers’ big-label debut. Its 13 songs are delivered in a style that defies pigeonholing but might be described as a rootsy amalgam of folk, country, bluegrass, rock and pop - even a jab of punk-style dynamics here and there. Tickets: $42. Event is held at the Big Top Chautauqua on Mt. Ashwabay in Bayfield, WI.

Jul 15th: Joan Baez
Time: 7:30 pm
In 2009, Joan Baez filled the tent and played to an adoringly crowd. She had such a great experience on our stage she’s back again. A stunning soprano, Joan's natural vibrato lent a taut, nervous tension to everything she sang. In the traditional songs she mastered, there was an acknowledgment of the human condition. Fifty years on, she continues to show renewed vitality and passion in her concerts and records, and is more comfortable than ever inside her own skin. In this troubled world, to paraphrase “Wings,” she will always continue to seek “a place where they can hear me when I sing.” Tickets: $65 | $55 | $45. Event is held at the Big Top Chautauqua on Mt. Ashwabay in Bayfield, WI.

Jul 15th- Jul 18th: Duluth Playhouse presents "The Producers"
Time: Thurs-Sat 7:30 pm/Sun 2 pm
The Producers, Mel Brooks’ comic tour de force, won a record twelve Tony Awards in 2001. This rollicking production is filled with old-fashioned Broadway glitz, show-stopping songs, wickedly inventive dances, and enough audacious humor to keep audiences laughing all the way home. Max Bailystock, a down on his luck Broadway producer, lassoes his milquetoast accountant Leo Bloom into a scheme to produce the biggest flop possible, on the premise that they can make more money from overselling a bomb than parlaying a hit. The preposterous “Springtime of Hitler” seems to be just the “sure to flop” script they are looking for to make all their theatrical dreams come true. Marvelously scandalous, outrageously campy, and downright zany, The Producers is one of the funniest, splashiest, flashiest musicals ever to hit the stage. $23 adults/$21 seniors (65+)/$15 youth & students/$19 Groups (15+). Jul 21st- Jul 25th: Duluth Playhouse presents "The Producers"
Time: Wed-Sat 7:30 pm/Sun 2 pm
